TEACHER’S ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
Teaching is a dynamic profession with fast changing times, It is expected of every teacher to upgrade his or her skills and competencies from time to time . D.A.V , in this regard has always been at the forefront to ensure that teachers are given ample opportunities to upgrade their credentials and sharpen their skills, by conducting orientation programmes for teachers every year. This enables the school to develop better resources for the benefit of students.
This year on 1 st june , the school had organized a teacher’s enrichment programme , under the aegis of Shri. G. Balasubramanian, Former Director – Academics, CBSE, New Delhi, Leading Educational Consultant. The theme of the programme was “current Trends in curriculum and pedagogy”.
It was a vibrant interactive session touching upon various aspects of teaching influenced by recent trends. The main highlights of the session included :
*The ancient philosophy of education scripted in “Vivekachoodamani” by Adi Shankaracharya.
* Various philosophies propounded by thinkers of medieval time like Aristotle.
* Current/modern trends in education palm leaf to palm top , e school to m-school.
Great emphasis was laid on learning curve. Types of learning and types of learners were also discussed.
The session concluded on a refreshing note with questions asked by various teachers.
